I loved the tour of the Mordecai house. I went there with my daughter’s school two years ago. I have lived in Raleigh for almost 20 years now, and I am just beginning to understand and appreciate the rich history here. I like it here a lot. I am so glad that I made the decision to make Raleigh my home.

I was born 5 house north of the Mordecai House on the same side of the street. We would play in the yard in the later 50′s early 60′s, and we once, when the door was wide open, we went into the house and saw someone sitting in the living room in a wingback chair.

And to me, as well, when I first encountered the neighborhood. But what a storied history the house has. Also, Park and Rec staff tell me it’s the most haunted house in the state. But that’s a story altogether.
